A bit about me
Hello, I'm Emilie
Not all who wander are lost
Born in the beautiful sun-kissed, wine-producing region of Lavaux, Switzerland, my childhood and teenage years were also spent in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and the California Bay Area. I grew up navigating the rich complexity of intercultural (mis)communication and learning how to fit in seamlessly.

With a degree in education and a few years of teaching under my belt, I set off for the faraway land of Kyrgyzstan, a mountainous country along the ancient Silk Road where I lived and worked for two years. When I wasn't teaching English and hanging out with street kids, I was learning the local languages (Kyrgyz and Russian) and immersing myself into the history and culture of this unique place.
My love for language and culture steered me towards into a degree in linguistics and social sciences. In 2014, I shifted my professional focus and discovered the exciting, constantly changing world of marketing and communications. Since then, I've had fun honing my copywriting, brand messaging, and translating skills and applying my project management know-how to help non-profits and brands tell their stories.
